Dloz’lami: Sis Thembi teaches that ancestors are NOT to be worshipped

the concept of ancestors.

Oftentimes, people who aren’t into African Spirituality have the wrong beliefs about it. They tend to think that perhaps ancestors replace their Christianity or the idea of God. But Thembi disputed this fully today and relayed what it means to connect with ancestors.

She explained that ancestors don’t need to be worshipped. She’s clarified before that most ofbthem just want to feel that they are not being ignored or forgotten. They want to be acknowledged and kept up to date with your life. They don’t replace God.

People seemed to love this and many were quoting this message.

One user wrote, ““God is still in charge. Ancestors don’t need to be worshipped, Ancestors need to be acknowledged”- Thembi 🌺#DloziLami”

While another user wrote, “Ancestors are not there to be worshipped but, like our parents, they are there to be acknowledged. They are our guardian angels. There’s higher power (God). #Dlozlami”

I love that Thembi teaches us these things. Some of us grew up in Christian households and had no idea what the spiritual side entails. The education that we get on this show is so valuable and I hope Thembi gets more and more seasons. Her show is truly necessary in today’s times.
