Dineo Nchabeleng is best known for her role on ‘Generations’ as Angela Motene; Where is she now?

After leaving the popular South African telenovela in 2014, actress Dineo Nchalabeng, best known for her former role on Generations where she played Tau Mogale’s daughter, Angela Motene has bagged several acting gigs since her termination on the show and has continued to enhance her experience in the film industry. So what has the actress been up to?


According to Mail & Guardian, Generations’ producers fired 16 members of their cast after a strike broke out demanding an increase in salaries. After two months off-air, a new telenovela, Generations – The Legacy was launched in its replacement and included only a few of the original cast members from the show including Connie Ferguson who plays Karabo Moroka, Rapulana Seiphemo who plays Angela Motene’s father and Ronnie Nyakale, who plays Cosmo. The rest of the cast includes a bunch of new faces, one of which is Lebogang Mthunzi who replaced Dineo Nchalabeng’s role as Angela.

Since leaving the soapie, Dineo Nchabeleng has bagged several jobs in front the camera. According to various posts on her Instagram, she continues to make strides in the film as well as the media industry. Her most recent acting gig is on Whatever It Takes. According to eTV, the show premiered in 2022 and is about a mother who will stop at nothing to save her son.

Nchabeleng appeared on Afternoon Express in 2019 where she revealed that she made her first TV appearance at the age of seven when she did her first commercial. She also shared that she studied drama for a year at the National School of the Arts. She has worked on numerous gigs including working as a TV presenter on YoTV’s Blue Couch as well as acting on Soul City, Ring of Lies, and End Game. Nchalabeng has also starred in several movies including My Brother The Egg, Sofa Silahlane, Beat The Drum, and Christmas In Jozi
