Her death was one that fans of the show did not see coming as she was hustling money for her wedding. Asanda was convinced to join Mgedeza and his minions in a cash-in-transit heist because she wanted to finance a star-studded wedding with all the glitz and glamour.
In a bid to be a team player, Asanda then went and fetched one of the bags filled with money only for one of the men previoulsy shot to wake up and shot her from the front. When her friends saw that she had been shot, they rushed to try and help her but it seems it was already too late.
Zikhona Bali had already confirmed her exit from DiepCity in October this year. Taking to her Instagram account on Tuesday, she gave flowers to fellow cast member Chrispen Nyathi. She said she would act alongside the actor if given the chance again.
Bali said she was grateful for having him as a cast member and urged him to continue his career as an actor. Zikhona Bali wrote:
If you asked, if I’d do it again with him @chrispen_nyathi. I’d say yes all over again. Thank you for arriving and being present on ‘ACTION’. Thank you for allowing our characters to travel to uncomfortable places and making sure I travel back safely. Thank you for being goofy with me in between takes. I appreciate your focus, calm energy and willingness to be your magical self. May your gifts be protected, may you fearlessly f*ck up shit in this industry. Shine King 👑🕯️❤️ Love you buddy

In response, Zikhona Bali’s on-screen husband Chrispen Nyathi said she made him a better actor. He also described her as the best actress he has ever met. Nyathi wrote:
I have so much to say but I will just say I appreciate you and I look up to you. The best I’ve ever met. You killed it everyday ma’am. You were constantly consistent with Asanda. Thank you for making me a better actor.
