Lydia Mokgokoloshi is an 81 year old veteran actress known as Koko Mantsha on Skeem Saam, the mother to Charity, and Katlego’s grandmother. She grew up in a big family where she had five siblings. Her father was blind and her mom was the one who took care of them all.

Not known to many, Lydia and her late husband whom she describe as peaceful in a way that he would never bite a fly were blessed with only one child, a son. Unfortunately the son also died in 2003.

The two people that formed part of her family died, i.e her husband and her son. Every parent’s dream is to see their children grow up and take care of them until they die, but as for Lydia, there son died first.

Lydia’s only son left behind two children , and she currently stay with them in Soweto. Never underestimate Koko Mantsha, she is experienced in many ways. Before she started acting she was a teacher and has taught for over 20 years. Skeem Saam is not her first television debut, she played the role of an evil mother in law on ‘Bophelo ke semphekgo’.
