Springboks player Damian Willemse has dedicated the team’s massive win against Romania to a close friend Benje Momberg, who was recently shot and left paralysed following an attack.
The boys in green and gold won their second Rugby World Cup game 76-0 at the Bordeaux Stadium.

In an Instagram post a day after the Springboks victory, Damian Willemse thanked fans for their well wishes.
He posted: “Thank you all for your incredible support and making this performance one to remember!Damian also shared that the win was dedicated to his school friend Benje Momberg, who was left paralysed after a recent attack.
He continued: “I would like to dedicate this win to you, my friend Benje. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your friends & family. Stay strong, my bro!”Both Damian and Benje attended the Paul Roose Gymnasium school in Stellenbosch.
During the game, Damian wore an armband with Benje’s name on it.According to Find It, Benje Momberg was shot by armed robbers at the Van Der Stel pub earlier this month.
