This young Russian couple decided to go ahead with their wedding in coronavirus isolation with their pet cat dressed in a bow tie as their only witness.
The newlyweds, named Alexey and Valeria Belonosovs had planned to hold their wedding in a restaurant on 4 April with a large number of guests invited.After Russia announced the coronavirus lockdown the big wedding was cancelled but the couple decided to still get married on the scheduled day. Images show the pair in face masks and medical gloves celebrating their big day.
They even dressed their pet cat in a bow tie so it could be their honourable guest. They told Newsflash that they could not invite a photographer to the wedding, so instead they took their own snaps using a selfie stick.When asked by Newsflash if they had been discouraged by the fact that they could not have their party as planned, they said, “Of course we were: we had bought the outfits, we had booked the restaurant, the host and many guests were invited. But we have calmed down now because we understand that these are necessary measures and feel happy that we feel good, and none of our loved ones are sick with the virus.”
