The SA Idols winner; Zama Khumalo who hails from Mpumalanga is proudly dating fellow contestant; Brandon Dhludhlu who was eliminated from the singing competition after making it into the top three.Zama walked away with R1 million, a recording deal from Kalawa Jazmee, R150 000 worth of the latest Samsung products, the all-new Toyota Starlet 1.4, R100 000 worth of fashion from Truworths, a Kymco Xciting 400 scooter worth R120 000 and R80 000 worth of musical instruments from Yamaha.
The runner-up; Mr. Music didn’t leave the stage empty-handed. The young man, who stood in a queue for more than 24 hours to get an opportunity to audition, walked away with R50 000 in cash from Samsung, along with some of the latest Samsung products, R50 000 in cash in an Old Mutual Money account and R50 000 worth of fashion from Truworths.
Dhludhlu shed some light on how the competition affected their relationship: “it was scary to be competing against Zama because she is so talented and she was my strongest competition. But I love her. So we spoke about the fact that it’s a competition and we are not going to let it get in the way of our relationship.”
The couple who have only been dating for six months have already met each other’s parents.
