In an interview with News24, the police officer said he was excited to have made it to the show’s top 6 as he never thought he would. He added that he saw the “grace and favour from God”.
“It encourages me to continue further and put in more work to deliver on Sundays during my performances.”
During the “triple the music for viewers and triple the pressure for the singles show”, Molomo performed Kelly Khumalo’s Esphambanweni, Michael Bolton’s rendition of When a Man Loves a Woman and Luther Vandross’s’ So Amazing.
Per the statement, he received criticism from judges Somizi and JR. Somizi reportedly said “just because you’ve got a great voice, doesn’t mean your vocals fit in every genre” about his second performance, and JR said his third performance “got the job done” despite not being “the most punchy or powerful”.
However, he received praise from Thembi Seete for his performance of Esphambanweni. According to the statement, Seete called Molomo “gifted”.
This week, the top three finalists record their solo singles, produced by Kalawa Jazmee. The finale takes place in two weeks.
