Rendani Ntimbani does not know where else to look for help.
The mother of three from Mamelodi in Pretoria has been without electricity for the past three weeks.
Her pleas have seemingly fallen on deaf ears and she has not told her story with the hope that she will be assisted.
Ntimbani said she was “so stressed because I had to throw away all our food, chicken, beef – all of it because we have no power” and had to cook on a fire outside before she bought a one plate paraffin stove.
She added that she nearly lost her life after she fell into the fire as she was cooking.
Ntimbani said their power was cut on 21 November when the city was working on her neighbour’s power connection.
Her attempts to phone city power almost every day have hit a snag and she now has to compromise.
The electricity loss has also had a dire consequence on her financial situation.
Ntimbani said she could not afford the R50 for two litres of paraffin a day to cook for her family.
She is also the only one who does not have electricity in her entire street which makes it even worse.
Ntimbani wiped her tears away with her T-shirt as she described what the past three weeks without power had been like.
