Mandla Gaduka’s love affair with the performing arts began at the Mmabana Cultural Center in 2002 according to TVSA. It was here that he took his first steps towards stardom, enrolling in a full-time drama course that laid the foundation for his future success.
With aspirations that reached for the stars, Mandla Gaduka soon relocated to Pretoria, where he joined forces with The South African State Theatre Development, a move that would prove pivotal in his career.
ACTING CHOPS
In 2009, Mandla Gaduka made the leap from stage to screen with his film debut in the sci-fi thriller “District 9,” directed by Neill Blomkamp.
This marked the beginning of his foray into the world of cinema, a move that would soon see him taking on bigger and more diverse roles.
AWARDS
In 2010, Mandla Gaduka joined the cast of the SABC1 television sitcom ‘Gauteng Maboneng,’ portraying the lovable ‘Solomon.’
His portrayal struck a chord with audiences, earning him the prestigious SAFTA Golden Horn Best Actor Award in TV Comedy not once but twice, in 2016 and 2018, at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA).
DIFFERENT ROLES
In 2019, he ventured into international territory, joining the Danish Independent Theatre Production Company, ‘Fix & Foxy.’
Gaduka was part of a collaborative show between the Danish Company and seven South African actors known as ‘Dark Noon‘.
