The youth day in South Africa better known as the Soweto day which takes place on June 16th each year is a day celebrated for the youth uprising against apartheid in 1976.

This day is a public holiday for South Africa therefore in order to celebrate the youth day teachers and adults dress up as school children and wear uniforms for a change.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
A lot of teachers enjoy the dress up as it reminds them too of their youth days. A few teachers posted their pictures of youth day on Twitter and it grabbed the attention of many. A lot of people seemed to think that most teachers looked younger in school uniforms and some looking even younger than the students that they teach.

@odedanilo a certain Twitter user started a trend when he posted his own pictures on Twitter that made other teachers post themselves too and they looked really good.

It seemed like most of the teachers did what they were asked of and made an effort to look for uniforms and dress up. For most teachers it was a very good experience.

” I fullfilled my fantasy of being a private school student for a day and it felt incredible.” commented one teacher on Twitter.
