A 25-year-old Simphiwe Majowe Nhlangulela, better known by his stage name Simmy, is a well-known South African musician and songwriter. He was born on July 9, 1996.

Tugela Ferry, KwaZulu-Natal is where she spent her childhood. Her own sound spans neo-soul and experimental pop in addition to electronic dance.

She tried out for SA’s Got Talent and SA’s Idols in the past, but she never made it through the audition stage. It’s safe to say that her album “Tugela Fairy (Made Of Stars)” is up there with the best of them in South African music.

Simmy’s 1996 birthplace is the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Her parents had four children total, and she is the fourth and final one.

Simmy’s grandmother resided close to their home, so she and her family often spent time there.

Simmy went to elementary, middle, and high school and graduated with honors. She continued her education in the social sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has completed her education and now has a degree.

Her big break came in 2017 when she was signed to EL World Music by Sun-EL, who saw her play at college. They worked together to release the song Ntada Ezikude.

Tugela Fairy (Made Of Stars), her debut album following her graduation from high school, catapulted her to popularity in South Africa. Her discography also includes the songs Simmy Ubala, Simmy Nawe, Simmy Ngonile, Simmy Ngiyesaba, and Sonini.

She has recently performed at the Buyelekhaya Festival in East London and at the DStv Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards due to the success of her blend of neo-soul and neo-folk sounds.

Quite a bit of Simmy’s time is devoted to improving himself. She once revealed that becoming a successful artist required her to overcome shyness and stage fear.
