South African singer, actor and dancer Kelly Khumalo was born on the 11th of November 1982. Native of Spruit view, East Rand. Spruit view. She rocketed to prominence after her debut album T.K.O was released (2005).
In the 2005 Afro Pop music circuit, she was crowned the best newcomer. On 5 November 2012, The Past, The Present, The Future album was released. She won the South African Music Awards in May 2013.
The Voice of Africa which was released in 2020, was certified as gold by Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA) and by Esiphambaweni, which achieved number one in the gospel diagrams. The Voice of Africa received a nomination for best Afro-pop album at the 27th South African Music Awards.
Born in Katlehong, Kelly Khumalo went to KwaZulu-Natal. In 1997, she moved to Gauteng.
T.K.O. was released in South Africa on 19 August 2005 and nominated for two South African Music Awards (2006).
She talked about being in an abusive relationship and became a defender of domestic abuse in 2012. During her relationship with singer Molemo Maarohanye, the singer confessed that she was an addict to drugs for at least two years.
Her partner Senzo Meyiwa, South African national football team captain and Orlando Pirates club side with whom she had a kid, was shot dead in her presence at her home family in Vosloorus on 26 October 2014.
The Past, The Present, The Future album was released in South Africa on 5 November 2012.
Her album The Past, The Present, The Future was awarded the Best Female Artist of the Year at the 19th SAMA awards (2013).
On October 2014, the single “Asine” was released at the Metro FM Awards (2015), and their album, Back to my Roots for Best African Pop Album and nominated at the South African Music Awards XXXI for Best African Adult Album (2015).
