Actress and singer Sindiswa Dlathu is from the country of South Africa. She gained widespread recognition for her performance as Thandaza Mokoena on Muvhango, a position she had held from the beginning of the program in 1997 and continued to play until her departure in 2018.

A lot of people were disappointed when she left Muvhango. Some of them mentioned that they watched Muvhango because of her; she is their role model. Sindi left Muvhango to play a leading role in the telenovela The River, where she plays the role of Lindiwe Dlamini-Dikana, a very strong and powerful woman who would do anything to protect her wealth, her marriage, her family, and maintain her lavish lifestyle. In the show, Sindi portrays Dlamini-Dikana as someone who would do anything to protect these things.

At the 2020 DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards, Sindi Dlathu was recognized as the audience’s favorite actress, earning her the prize for best actress. She received the SAFTA award for Best Actress in 2021 for her performance as Lindiwe in The River, which was nominated for the award.
