A few days ago, we got the tragic news that TV and radio personality Nomakula ‘Kuli’ Roberts is no more. Kuli was a lively and outspoken person. She was also funny and you could listen to her and her funny comments all day long. She entered the entertainment industry at a young age, and was also fortunate enough to be in the same industry as some of her family members like the following :

 

 

 

 

 

Hlubi Mboya

Hlubi is Kuli’s younger sister. She is also an actress, best known for her role as Nandipha in SABC 3’s Isidingo. Hlubi has also starred in other shows such as MNET’s Jacob’s cross and more. Of course, the sisters were very close and we can’t imagine the pain Hlubi is in right now. We pray that the actress can recover from this loss and find the strength to move on with the rest of the family.

Thomas Msengana

The deceased was the cousin of radio dj Thomas Msengana. Thomas is also known as the ex-husband of singer Unathi Nkayi. Kuli and Thomas have a lot in common, like they are both good speakers and have worked in radio.

I think the privilege of being able to work with your family in the same industry also contributed to Kuli having an everlasting career because you get to help each other with ideas rather than doing it all alone with no one closer to advice you or be there for you.
