Manaka Ranaka, popularly known for her role as Lucy Diale recently revealed that she is pregnant and the internet has been busy trying to figure out who the father of their pending bundle of joy is.

The 41-year-old actress and TV personality has made a name for herself in the acting industry, she started way back in the 2000s era and appeared on local dramas such as Gaz Lam as well as Tshisa, and on Isidingo which is one of the biggest soapies in South Africa. Tyelbooi’s baby bump wasn’t noticeable before she went on maternity because she hid it with big dresses and jackets. Manaka Ranaka is currently doing the same with her character and doing a lot of scenes sitting down.

Manaka, who plays Lucy Diale on the popular soapie Generations: The Legacy, recently became a gogo as well when her eldest daughter, Katlego, gave birth.

The actress, who is preparing to become a mum yet again, is preparing to go on maternity leave.Speaking to Daily Sun, the award-winning star said she was looking forward to her child, but motherhood wasn’t anything new to her.

“It’s the same feeling I felt when I had my two daughters, so this experience is nothing new.

“People have been saying they hope I’m carrying a boy, but we’ll see.”

“I look forward to giving birth to a child. I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl, as long as it’s not an animal,” she chuckled.

The actress doesn’t subscribe to the notion that boys are heirs.oys and girls are equally important and have different functions in society.

“I don’t believe that boys are necessarily better. According to society and culture norms, they’re carriers of legacies. Girls also bring kids into this world,” said Manaka.

“People have been saying they hope I’m carrying a boy, but we’ll see.”

Manaka said she’d be going on maternity leave in a few weeks time, which meant her character Lucy will also disappear for a while. “I’m still working, but will go on leave a few weeks from now. Lucy will also be gone.”
