Unathi did her secondary education at Victoria Girls High School. She has got a International Media Studies from University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Unathi also has a Journalism and Drama degree from Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa.

Husband

Unathi Nkayi married to DJ Thomas Msengana, popularly known as Bad Boy T on 19 September 2009. The couple separated in 2017 for undisclosed reasons.

Children

Unathi Nkayi has two children with her ex-husband Thomas Msengana. The children are Sinako Msengana and Imbo Msengana.
Xhosa tribalism comments

On 11 November 2019 Unathi Nkayi issued out an apology for comments she had made to Luyolo a 2019 SA Idols finalist. While congratulating Luyolo she had said Xhosa are “tired of holding up the nation.” Unathi Nkayi herself who is a judge on SA Idols is a Xhosa like Luyolo and come from Eastern Cape. Many South Africans felt her comments promoted division and demand she apologises.

Unathi apologised for the comments.
“It saddens me that I have broken so many hearts with what I said tonight. What I saw was a beautiful joke being passed around this past week by so many South Africans not necessarily Xhosa and wanted to share.”

Marketing manager Makatseng Mokomoe confirmed Ndlovu resigned from the soapie, but said there was a possibility that he could come back someday. “Yes, he has resigned, but he won’t be replaced by anyone,” she said

According to sources close to the production, Ndlovu was unhappy with the way he was treated by the show and he felt that he deserved more.

Those close to him said he felt unappreciated despite being a popular actor who also brings in the numbers. “Of course, one might say he is a diva, but he knows his worth, and he realized that they were not appreciating him for that,” a source said.Another source said Ndlovu also felt that he was being targeted by some people in the production, and he just wanted to make things easy for them by resigning from the soapie.

Ndlovu did not respond to questions at the time of going to print.

Recently we reported that Ndlovu allegedly had a bust up with colleague Masasa Mbangeni, who has also left the soapie.Romeo is a fan favourite and many took to social media to express their relief that he was not leaving the show. The initial reporting of his departure drew an angry reaction on social media, prompting e.tv to dismiss the report as fake news.

Ndlovu and Scandal! co-star Stephanie Sandows were married in a private wedding last year but only posted pictures this year.

“The Baby’s Arrival Changed A Lot For Me” Pearl Opens Up About Motherhood

New mom Pearl Modiadie has been opening up about her new journey as a mother and today, she opened about how it has changed her life.

“Life after birth is quite a massive adjustment!” Shared the Metro FM DJ who revealed how motherhood has affected her both physically and psychologically. “The baby’s arrival changed a lot for me physically, psychologically, my daily routine changed as well as my sleeping patterns of course & I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Pearl, who maintains that she wouldn’t trade being a mom to Oliver for anything says that it’ll take time for her to get used to being a parent. “It’s all taking some time to get used to though, but I feel at ease knowing I’m not alone and that other moms are going through the same thing.”

The star is currently attending classes to learn more about motherhood.

“How do I know this? I’m attending @officialflourishnetwork postnatal classes to learn with and from other moms & I recommend them to any new moms!

On the 18 of October 2020, her child Oliver Lewatle turned one month old and to mark the special occasion, Pearl gave us a glimpse into her baby’s beautiful nursery.

“My baby turns 1 month today & I’m obsessed with his nursery! 🎉This is where most of our bonding time takes place and I couldn’t have created this space without @bespokebabies_southafrica !! You dream it, they create it.”
In the first few weeks of the birth of her son, Pearl reminded women to do the things that make them happy, even if it’s something simple.
