Generations’ Jack Mabaso Actor Vusi Kunene’s Real Life Baby Mama

Generations' Jack Mabaso Actor Vusi Kunene Real Life Baby MamaRenowned veteran actor Vusi Kunene who is best known for his role as the ruthless Jack Mabaso in Generations and its continuation, Generations: The Legacy is a very private man and very little is known about his wife and family. However, due to a court case a few years back, it is known that the actor has a daughter with baby mama Grace Mahlaba. Grace Mahlaba is a fellow thespian who played the role of Ipileng on the now cancelled e.tv soapie Backstage.

According to the Sunday World, Grace and Vusi were once involved in a relationship which produced a daughter. However, in 2014, Grace took the Generations actor to court alleging that he had never paid child support for the child. At the time of the lawsuit, Vusi and Grace’s child was aged 17. Grace was demanding R5000 per month in child support, while the couple’s daughter also opened a case against the Jack Mabaso actor suing him for child abandonment.Vusi’s baby mama Grace Mahlaba is also accomplished in her own right as an actress who later transitioned to a scriptwriter. Explaining some of the productions that she had been involved in over her career, Grace told

My career was thriving long before I joined the soapie Backstage. In 1991, I was cast in the film adaptation of Percy Mtwa’s play, Bopha. It was directed by Morgan Freeman and starred Danny Glover, Alfre Woodard, Sello Maake Ka-Ncube and Eric Miyeni. Although this was my first movie, I could hold my own on set. I then went on to film Being Human alongside late actor Robin Williams, The Lion and spent three years doing industrial theatre. I also travelled around Southern Africa educating people about HIV/Aids.

In 2000, I joined Backstage, where I played the role of 49-year-old Ipeleng. Because I was only 30 years old at the time, the producers were reluctant to give me the role. Things changed 15 episodes later when I found a wig that made me look older. I also advised the wardrobe department to dress Ipeleng in two-piece outfits, brown stockings and block heels to make her appear older.

Grace later left acting because she had a passion for creating stories.
