We are two months into the year and Lesego “Coconut Kelz” Tlhabi is already owning 2021!

The satirist, actress and TV host has scored an acting gig in a new Showmax original series titled “Tali’s Baby Diary” which scooped several award for its first season’s “Tali’s Wedding Diary” show which aired in 2017.Lesego Tlhabi who created the character, Coconut Kelz will be appearing in the new season of Showmax original series ‘Tali’s Baby Diary’ in a few days.

This is after Tlhabi scored a TV presenting gig on SABC 3’s Trending SA.The show bid farewell to hosts Elma Smit and Refiloe Mpakanyane who were with the Trending SA family for an entire season. Tlhabi joined in the new season with Lootlove, Mo Flava and MaBlerh who is the daily host on the show. The three new faces of the show will rotate!

This is what she said about her alter-ego: “I didn’t do the character for any kind of career in the comedy scene; I just did it for my Facebook friends. So, it’s awesome to see how it’s grown and is my main career now, which I never expected. Kelz is going to be everywhere, so everyone who hates her needs to turn off their TVs because I am going to be everywhere.”

She’s also had to defend herself against trolls on social media who deemed her to be either “mocking black people or a whiteface comedian or a young white woman trapped in a black woman’s body.”

The satirist is also a writer, besides acting, and has appeared on numerous channels such as ETV’s morning show and Tlhabi’s BET specials which used to air weekdays on BET Africa channel 129.

Following Zinhle Mabena’s arrest last night under suspicions of having conspired to have her ex-husband murdered, she appeared in court today and was acquitted of those charges. On what she described as a night from hell, the former Isibaya actress told Daily Sun that she was traumatized after having spent the night in police detention.
Zinhle Mabena appeared at the Pretoria Magistrate Court in Tshwane today and was facing two charges of murder and attempted murder. Last month her ex-husband, Robert Ngwenya was ambushed at a petrol station after three men opened fire and shot at his vehicle. During the attack, his body guard died and he later told the media that he has been receiving death threats leading up to the incident.

Phil Mphela tweeted, “Mabena, known for playing Sihle on Isibaya, was arrested last night for an alleged conspiracy to murder her husband. The attempted murder incident took place in January, resulting in the death of the husband’s bodyguard.

“In January Robert Ngwenya, Zinhle Mabena’s husband, survived an ambush attack. Three men reported opened fire on his car while he was still inside. At the time, Ngwenya told media that he had been receiving death threats since May.”

After spending a night under police custody, the prosecutor threw the case out and acquitted Zinhle of all these charges. The prosecutor also deemed her arrest unlawful. The actress told Daily Sun that she was traumatized by what transpired last night but thanked her family for standing by her despite the ‘lies’ which are spreading like wildfire.

“I cannot pretend and begin to explain how traumatic last night was for me to spend a night in police detention. I thank my family, close friends and my legal team for their support and faith in my innocence despite the despicable and utter lies that are spreading against me.”

Her lawyers Shapiro and Ledwaba Incorporated also confirmed in a statement seen by the publication that she was arrested unlawfully and said she is now a free woman, “I act on behalf of Zinhle and confirm that she was unlawfully taken into custody yesterday but is now a free woman after the NPA declined to place the matter on the roll, because of the preposterous nature of the allegations against our client. We can also confirm that nothing plausible was provided to the authorities to link our client to any crime including but not limited to Murder or attempted murder or any conspiracy of sought.

Her lawyers seem to think these allegations come from her ex-husband who she has divorced, “All these mischievous allegations ironically come from her husband who she has recently filed a divorce against, and against whom our client has obtained an Interim Protection Order,” read the statement.

Former 94.7 radio personality, DJ Euphonik is blasted by tweeps for being unapologetic about his rape case that was dropped by the NPA due to lack of evidence. Both DJs denied raping a woman known as Ms Madikizela at a party in 2011. The duo also released a joint statement which stated that the allegations levelled against them were false, they’re deeply saddened that GBV has been weaponised in this manner as it’s a serious matter in the country.

The media personality also took shots at feminists and supporters of the alleged “rape victim” who accused DJ duo, DJ Fresh and Euphonik of raping her in a series of tweets:“Shout out to the toxic feminist brigade who are conscious liars and delusionists that don’t know the difference between fact or fiction. You can’t rape someone you’ve never met and don’t know. No matter how much you want to believe it won’t make it true.

You’re not going to tell me how to react. It was funny while our names were being dragged by this lying extorshinist. Keep the the same energy going. Have a great day!”

Though the duo have been acquitted by the NPA, they are still not back on 94.7 as the radio station parted ways with them due to the rape allegations that were levelled against them.

Primedia released a statement that confirmed the news:“Primedia Broadcasting can confirm that, after careful consideration of the events of the last few weeks, the company has decided to release DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their contracts.”

Taking to Instagram, Mmatema shared a beautiful video of themselves all loved up.

The star made it known that her husband is her best friend.

The TV presenter captioned the video: “I love you always @tshepoga, happy anniversary best friend.”

The couple welcomed their baby boy in October 2019.

The musician, who has a fleet of luxury cars, shared that he now wants a personal driver.

DJ Tira took to Twitter and Instagram on Tuesday, 16 February and posted a couple of snaps seated inside a posh Mercedes Benz.
