South African actress, Pearl Thusi confirms news of bagging an acting role on an international Netflix series titled, Wu Assassins.

Just after confirming the news, the star stung trolls, who are believed to be Black Twitter users.

Pearl shared a video where she’s seen taught how to fight in Thailand, as the role entails her fighting.

“Living a dream… Usually when I go to bed, muscles aching and bones shaking- I count every blessing. …Additionally- the guy training us actually trains champions- real fighters would kill to have him as a teacher but here he is- teaching muaythai to amateurs like me- with passion and care. What a champ,” she revealed.

Speaking to Black Twitter, she said: “Dogs bark at moving cars.Lastly – tell black Twitter to catch me outside!” she added.

Fans have taken to social media to congratulate the star, while Black Twitter are in shock.As some of the trolls dragged her through the week and last week for her poor delivery on acting roles and many just expressed hate for her without a tangible reason.

It felt like Pearl’s career was crumbling, not until she shocked them with news of her international win, despite loosing role on Netflix’ Queen Sono, which is cancelled.

DJ Maphorisa hints on dropping new single, ‘Duduzane ka Zuma anytime soon.

He made this known through his Twitter as he shared a teaser of his soon-to-be released single titled, ‘Duduzane ka Zuma’.

The song is named after former president Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane.

2021 seems to be a year most artists are getting back on their feet and their fans are loving their vibe.

In the video Maphorisa shared, it features three dancers getting down to Phori’s new song.

DJ Maphorisa said it won’t be too long before the full track is released.

For many, the cancellation of “Isibaya” signals the end of a groundbreaking era in local television.
The hit Mzansi Magic show kept viewers on the edge of their seats for years with its high paced drama and story lines.
And while it’s spark might have died which is indicative of its dwindling viewership numbers over the last year, it will still be remembered as the drama that gave South Africans some of the best television.
While Mzansi Magic kept mum as rumours of the show’s cancellation circled for months last year, in a statement sent to IOL Entertainment, the channel director for local entertainment channels at M-Net, Nomsa Philiso, said: “It’s always sad when a show that was popular and loved ends, as it is the case with ’Isibaya’.
“However, times change and television is about adopting and adapting.
“As Mzansi Magic, we are thrilled about the new partnership with Black Brains Productions.
“They will be bringing in fresh content that is innovative and captivating.”
Following the news, stars of the show took to social media to bid farewell.
Actor Sdumo Mtshali, who has played the character of Sbusiso on the drama since it began, took to his Instagram to thank the production and veteran actor Bheki Mkhwane, who played his father for eight seasons.
“Eight seasons playing father and son! Eight seasons constantly teaching our audience about the importance of family, culture and black love!
“One of my grateful career moves of all time.
“Thank you Bheki Mkhwane,” he wrote in a caption which accompanied a picture of himself and Bheki on set.
Actress Enhle Mbali thanked Bomb Productions for the lessons she’s learnt while working with them.
“I joined later in its conception but I learnt so much. What a crazy ride,” she wrote on Twitter.

Enhle played the role of Siza and who brought a whole lot of drama when she pitched up at eBhubesini.
Actor and writer Chris Q Radebe also posted a number of images on Instagram to thank his cast and crew for the amazing experiences.
Chris, who plays Dabula, also expressed his desire to work with the actors of Isibaya on different productions going forward.

The Real Housewives of Durban breaks viewing records on Showmax

Durban (RHOD) launched exclusively on Showmax on Friday, 29 January and within hours was trending on Twitter and on screens.

A review of the launch day statistics on the streaming platform reveals that RHOD has broken all previous first-day viewing records, claiming top spot on the streaming service.

The episode landed on Showmax at 00:00, with die-hard fans staying up until midnight to stream. Views started to pick up from 07:00, continuing to rise throughout the day with views peaking at 20:00. Over the last week, RHOD has remained the most popular show on Showmax.

Speaking about the success of the first episode, Candice Fangueiro, head of content at Showmax, says, “We know our reality fans come for the drama and if you’re looking for fireworks, the first episode of RHOD has it all, so we’re not surprised to see it break records.”

The series features six successful and stylish Durban socialites: Annie Ludick, Ayanda Ncwane, Kgomotso Ndungane, Nonkanyiso Conco, Nonku Williams and Sorisha Naidoo. In the series, viewers are invited into their homes, their businesses and of course, into their drama too. The first episode ended on a bombshell as Nonku shared her personal connection to Ayanda, CEO of Ncwane Communications and widow of gospel legend Sfiso. The hashtags #RHODurban and #realhousewivesofdurban were trending throughout the day on Twitter as fans from across the continent tuned in to the drama. Minnie Dlamini, whose wedding show, Becoming Mrs Jones, is also on Showmax, said on Twitter, “This is my new favorite show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #RHODurban Episode 1 has me hooked.”

Celebrity and reality TV star Lasizwe, who also has a series on Showmax, tweeted, “One thing about #RHODurban is Lasizwe is definitely a fan of the show! What a way to end episode 1. Tsi!”

Entertainment journalist and commentator Phil Mpela tweeted, “I’m watching the first episode of #RHODurban …They are gorgeous and clearly have a good sense of style… well, most of them 😉 The show looks like MONEY!!!”
