Makgofe young girls, Morongoa Monyobedi and Shady Mahlashane who left their 4 children for three weeks forcefully brought back home from Ga-Matlala ( Madietane) by some concerned Makgofe community members this evening, 20 October 2022.

According to those who went to fetch them, the family was contacted by anonymous about their whereabouts. They were found chilling outside the rented tarven rooms where they hid themselves. They tried to flee but they couldn’t succeed. They were told to pack their belongings and get into the car which belongs to a local good Samaritan woman.

The grandfather of shady told our publication that the Seshego police came in the morning but they couldn’t help saying that they work on arresting people not looking for people who left their children.

Grandfather said that Mmotong social workers took a 4-months-old baby, the other 1-year-old one was taken by her father and left one who is 4-year-old. Morongoa’s child was with her sister.

When being asked by Seshego and Moletjie News, Shady said that they did not have money to come home whereas they were laughing and insulting people on live facebook videos looking excited.

Morongoa said that the reason she escaped was that she had her personal issues which she denied to disclose.

They promised that they will not repeat it again.

Community members were gathered at the home of shady trying to advise them not to repeat what occurred again as it hurts the grandfather and children.

If there’s one career that is undermined and full of too much responsibility, it’s teaching. Many people can’t agree to this, but the truth is that there are teachers who are being bullied by students. A few days ago, there was a trending photo of a learner holding a brick and attempting to beat a teacher with it. One thing that is ruining our children is that teachers are no longer allowed to give them corporal punishment. They undermine them and start disrespecting them because they know they won’t do anything to them.

Following all that, there is a very heartbreaking story of a teacher who gets by a student that she teaches. Mphosela, a teacher of Physical Science who is in the photos above, was allegedly stabbed to death by a Grade 12 student who is 20 years old. According to the allegations, the student, who is presently in police custody, assaulted and stabbed the instructor when she was at her home. There is no evidence to suggest why the person committed such horrible things. On the other hand, people think that the suspect lived with the teacher.

This is very scary. Nowadays, teachers are no longer respected because of this no corporal punishment rule. Ever since it was implemented , teachers have lost respect . Children do as they please, knowing that the teacher won’t do anything to them. In my opinion, the government must bring back corporal punishment at schools. It will help to instill discipline and make children respect their teachers.
