Mafikeng’s very own, Tshego tweeted earlier on that he hasn’t made a single cent from the hits he made while he was still a signee under Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree
Now while Tshego didn’t say it directly that Cassper owes him millions, just adding one&one will bring us to that conclusion. When Tshego released his smash hits Garden, The Vibe and Hennessey, he was still part of Cassper’s record label and that means those songs were released under Cassper’s label imprint.
When songs make money on streaming platforms, YouTube, radio airplay, on TV as music videos and all the other sites artists use to fully monetize their music, the money goes to the record label first before coming to the artist. So it’s the record label’s responsibility to pay the artist and in this case, Family Tree didn’t pay Tshego since he further tweeted that he took them to court.
While we might not know the exact figures those songs made, we can be sure that they made a lot because they’re all gold selling singels and have a combined 3million+ views on YouTube so in other words Cassper really owes Tshego millions of rands
