Cancelled! The last episode of South African Telenovela Gomora will air on October 20.
Season 3 ends on 21 April and Season 4 starts the Monday after, but it won’t air for a full year.
Mzansi Magic has announced that DStv’s No 1 show Gomora will end on 20 October this year, with a shortened fourth and final season.
The reason?

According to M-Net:
“The series reaches its conclusion in October 2023 as M-Net strives to keep abreast of changing consumer viewership preferences.”
And from Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net:
“We are committed to bringing the best content to our viewers and, as such, we have to be responsive to their changing needs and preferences. This means that we have to bid farewell to beloved shows like Gomora, but we are excited to bring you new, fresh and exciting content.”
Yes TV lovers, we presume they’re referring to a mix of declining viewership numbers and that secret survey we told you about here when Legacy was cancelled.
The exit of two of the series’ stars could also be a deciding factor.
Both Siphesihle Ndaba and Katlego Danke, who’ve played Mazet and Thathi since the start, won’t be in the final season.
