Brenda Fassie Remembered On Her 59th Posthumous Birthday

South African singer Brenda Fassie might be dead, but her memory is still pretty fresh. This shouldn’t be a surprise because she made quite an impact in the music industry before her sudden death several years ago.

 

 

 
It is this impact that makes people around the world continue to remember her long after her death. The songstress was born on November 3, 1964, in Cape Town, South Africa. She died forty years later, in 2004.

It’s been over two decades since her death, but her memory lives. Not surprisingly, when November 3 came around this year, many of her compatriots made it a point to celebrate her “heavenly birthday.” From Facebook to Twitter, down to Instagram, many had one positive thing or the other to say about her and her impact on South Africa’s music industry.
