Bongani was born on August 26, 1985 to Brenda Fassie and another musician from the band Big Dudes. Bongani Fassi’s father, Dumisan Ngubeni, was the band’s keyboardist and Brenda was the lead singer. His mother wanted him to become a lawyer. As a child, he spent a lot of time with his mother.
