Boitumelo Thulo (born 28 April 1990), better known as Boity, is a South African television personality, rapper, actress, entrepreneur, and model. Thulo was selected one of Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 in 2019 for her work in the music and entertainment industry.

She gained prominence following the release of her debut single “Wuz Dat” (2018), which featured Nasty C. She acquired a deal with Def Jam in 2020 and released her EP 4436. At the 27th South African Music Awards, the EP was nominated for Best Hip Hop Album.

Thulo was born and raised in Potchefstroom, North West, by her maternal grandmother. She is the sole child of her mother, Modiehi Thulo.

Thulo attended Monash University to study psychology and criminology but dropped out due to her mother’s inability to pay her varsity fees. She was later represented by a casting agency, which culminated in her appearance in a 2010 Wimpy commercial.

Thulo began her television career in 2011 as the host of the YOTV educational show “Crib Notes.” She then co-hosted SABC 1’s The Media Career Guide Show with Thomani Mahlaba. She has also hosted a number of television programmes, including SkyRoom Live, Ridiculousness Africa, Club 808 Africa, Zoned, Change Down, and Big Brother Africa.

Thulo made her television debut in 2012 with the drama series Rockville. She starred in all four seasons as “Mpho Bogatsu.”

Thulo made her cinematic debut in 2014 with a role as “Betty” in the comedy short Dear Betty. She was also in the 2016 film Mrs Right Guy, where she played the minor role of “Marie.”
