Black Coffee opens up about Riky Rick and the guilt about how he died

International acclaimed DJ, Black Coffee has opened his heart out at the memorial service of Riky Rick.

The award winning DJ poured his heart out about his relationship with the late music icon, Riky Rick and his regrets.

Riky Rick,whose real name is Rikhado Makhudo was laid to rest on Tuesday in a private ceremony whereafter he got cremated.

He passed away last week Wednesday after he hanged himself at his home in Johannesburg.


 

 

Black Coffee gave Riky Rick’s fans and close friends who gathered at the memorial service to pay tribute to the fallen hero, a special look the intricacies that made up his friendship with Riky Rick.

He opened up about how hard he took the rapper’s death.

“I never write speeches,I always try to speak from the heart but not today. I don’t have the heart to speak. I was unfortunately not around on Tuesday, I wish I was. I had to watch everything online and that was very hard,”he said, in a deep sigh.

Black Coffee, whose real name is Nathi Maphumulo went on to lambast publications that published Riky’s leaked last letters to his wife and children.

He stated that it didn’t sit him well seeing Riky’s last words on a newspaper. Black Coffee asked why was something as delicate and special as Riky last words on a newspaper, written by a black man. He wondered why we embarrassing ourselves so much.

The DJ reiterated that Riky didn’t deserve that, he was a beautiful human being, everywhere he went he spread love.

Lastly, Coffee prayed for strength towards Riky Rick’s widow, Bianca Naidoo.
