Big Zulu On Somizi Mhlongo Drama: I Will Address Him When We Meet Somgaga is not a fan of Imali Eningi

Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung is not a fan of Big Zulu’s hit song Imali Eningi and he publicly declared that at the inaugural KwaZulu-Natal Entertainment Awards which took place December 15. Responding to the subtle shade, Big Zulu told Daily Sun that although he does not have a problem with Somgaga he wants to address the matter with him in person.

The country is currently loving Imali Eningi and it is also a top contender for this year’s Song Of The Year on the popular radio station Ukhozi FM’s December 31st countdown. Entertainer Somizi Mhlongo is not a fan of the song and he had the guts to say so on a public platform. He said he does not relate to the song one bit as much as the rest of the country does, therefore he cannot take part in the viral Duduzane Challenge.

During the awards ceremony which he was hosting, Somgaga said he already has a lot of money and does not need more, which is why the song is not fit for rich people like him. The title ‘Imali Eningi’ is nguni for ‘More Money’ which the lyrics speak of wanting more money so a person can live the expensive lifestyle they want.

Being the rich person that he is, Somgaga said, “The song is dividing us who have money and those who don’t have money and want to have it. The song does not relate with me at all and I feel left behind because I also like to be part of Duduzane Zuma’s famous walk challenge. I challenge Mzansi artists to write the song that accommodates all of us and not separate us with our financial status. I challenge Big Zulu, Sjava and others to write the song that will accommodate us all.”

Big Zulu told Daily Sun that he is unfazed by the shade but wants to confront Somgaga personally. “What Somizi said was his opinion and I will not entertain him. I will not talk about someone when they are not present as he did. I want to confront him and tell him what I think about his criticism. I don’t have a problem with him and I will address him when we meet,” he told the publication.

We guess this is exactly what DJ Sbu was talking about when he defended Big Zulu from jealous celebrities. DJ Sbu called out many celebrities who are jealous of Big Zulu’s success because they did not bother to take part in the viral challenge started by Duduzane Zuma.

Thanks to the challenge, the song and music video’s views sky rocketed to an impressive 1.1 million views in just one week, but it currently has over 3 million views. It is also currently the biggest song in the country sitting comfortably at the number 1 spot in a number of local charts.
