The girls who are famous for their dance moves in John Vuli Gate Challenge, after their video recently went viral speak out.
“The girls said that they were celebrating a friend’ s birthday, Khomotso Aphane and they had no idea that their video and dance moves will go viral”.
“They said that their dance moves to Mapara a Jazz’s song John Vuli Gate, did them a favour by attracting many fans and also helped them make money”.
“The young girls are getting more gigs and brands are featuring them”.
Birthday girl Khomotso Aphane(19) told Daily Sun that “they had no idea that their video would receive such attention, love and open doors for them”.
“They celebrated at Kolonnade Mall in Tswane after their initial plan of going to Golf Reef City was cancelled due to financial problems said Kgomotso”.
“They then decided to dance at a petrol station on their way to the mall and filmed themselves dancing on the 11 October. A friend posted the video of the challenge on WhatsApp and we loved it, she said.
Katlego Mohlahlo(18) said “she didnt think the video will do wonders”
“So far the girls have secured several gigs,two clothing brands want to work with them and also they are the ambassadors of a beer brand”.
Even though people are criticizing them for calling themselves “Stoko”, Katlego said that “they are young and they had fun without a man, thats why people are bitter”.
Tshegofatso Maepa (19) said ” as for the word ‘Stoko’ , its been there for ages and boys have been calling women ‘stoko’ and its normal”.
Oratile Mokwatlo(18) stated that” people should stop harassing other people online”
Lebogang Motalana said that” people will always talk”.
The John Vuli Gate girls caused storm on social media with their challenge which made lots of people and celebrities to join the John Vuli Gate Challenge.
