BI Phakathi bids farewell to late ‘sister and friend’ Nompilo Dlamini

Good Samaritan BI Phakhathi paid tribute to Swaziland-born content creator Nompilo Dlamini after her family announced her death on Instagram on Tuesday, 31 October – this comes after her courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

RIP NOMPILO: FAMILY ANNOUNCES
The determined and courageous 29-year-old cystic fibrosis patient and activist Nompilo Dlamini died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, 30 October, her family announced in a statement shared on her Instagram Stories.

“Dear friends and family…Nompilo passed peacefully in her sleep last night. As a family we’re still digesting the news and will update you about funeral arrangements in due course,” the statement read.

When she was just 26, Dlamini was forced to leave her school teaching job due to her declining health, TshisaLIVE reported.After learning about her death, the mysterious philanthropist BI Phakathi rushed to his popular social media platforms to pay tribute to Nompilo Dlamini and sent his condolences to her family.


 

 

“Our sister and friend Nompilo has passed on. She fought against cystic fibrosis and helped so many battling this condition. We will forever remember her as our fighting warrior and smiling angel. Sending love and prayers to her family in this tough season,” he penned on his feed.

“You fought this battle for everyone. I knew you would go someday but I was not ready to take the pain of losing you. Well done my sister, you did it and won our hearts ♥️,” BI Phakathi said.

Although she lost her fight to cystic fibrosis, Dlamini received some help along the way. In 2021, South African rapper Cassper Nyovest – real name Refiloe Maele Phoolo helped raise R150 000 in donations for her to receive a lung transplant. Disc jockey Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo popularly known as Black Coffee had also previously gifted her a breathing machine, BI Phakhathi revealed.
