Makhadzi’s kokovha album, which was published in 2020, has been certified gold.

The actress announced the news on Twitter, thanking her fans for their support.

Her fans complimented her on her new accomplishment as well.

The Ghanama hitmaker was performing in Malawi at the Sands Music Festival this past weekend and had the time of her life. She declared Malawi her new home as they gave her a warm welcome. “MALAWI you are the best…I found another home and I am coming back very soon,” she said.

South African musician Makhadzi has made quite the name for herself in the country. She recently became the only local musician to have a whole album reach gold status despite singing in tshiVenda, a language, not many South Africans can speak or even understand.

With calls growing louder for her to translate her music, she shares why she won’t be doing that any time soon.

Makhadzi has become a household name in South Africa, with thousands of devoted followers who support her music with fervor. The Limpopo singer, who is 25 years old, has been lauded for her hard work and lively performances, and she has made a number of key business acquaintances.

Makhadzi recently told TshisaLive that her one wish is to work with Beyonce, whom she has been messaging on Instagram for quite some time. She also expresses her desire to perform on stage with the multi-award-winning singer:

“She needs to bring me up on stage with her so we can collaborate.” In the piece, Makhadzi states, “I believe it will happen.”
