With South Africa’s first democratic elections in 1994, Basetsana Kumalo was crowned Miss Soweto and Miss Black South Africa. After Jacqui Mofokeng paved the way for the country’s black beauty queen, Kumalo is the second black woman to receive the title in our country and her journey as a beauty pageant Queen has inspired many young people, as she ended up mentoring some of them.

Beauty pageant is another form of entertainment, prestige and money. It nice to see beautiful women parading and get chosen to be the winner. It’s fun to watch so many beautiful women year after year to preparing themselves and hoping to win. The following year another set of them competing again.
