Bahumi Madisakwane, the daughter of media icon Somizi Mhlogo, appears to have realised her desire of changing her surname to Mhlongo.

Since its inception, Somizi’s reality show Living The Dream with Somizi has focused on Bahumi’s identity crisis. In order to have a sense of belonging, the actress has wanted to take her paternal surname. When she attempted to do so, she was unsuccessful because her father, Somizi, is still responsible for the damages.

Bahumi’s surname has changed to Mhlongo, according to her Instagram profile. Madiskwane was the surname of the TV actress’s mother. Palesa Madisakwane, Somizi’s mother, argued on Living Th Dream with Somizi that they must follow tradition before she gets the Mhlongo surname.

“At the end of the day, she is an Mhlongo if she wants to change her surname to Mhlongo.” I can’t do anything, but I’m scared about what my father will say. “My father often tells me that there are things that need to be done,” Palesa remarked.

Palesa went on to say that the Mhlongo forefathers don’t know Bahumi. They will formally present her to the Mhlongo ancestors if Somizi paid the damages, she claimed. Bahumi, on the other hand, argued that her forefathers knew her. What irritates Palesa is that Somizi should be the one to prioritize this, but he is dragging his heels.
