Big Nuz member Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo’s widow and queen of Gqom, Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane-Maphumulo said she lonely.
She revealed this in a video clip. She said she was looking for a new partner.
“Personally I prefer a white partner because they don’t talk too much. What is your suggestion because I’m really it’s not funny anymore? It’s now getting to my head.
“I have consulted with medical experts but they couldn’t help me because I ask them hard questions. Due to these problems I have resorted to alcohol. I simply drink my husband’s Original Shandis Gin or dance in order to feel less depressed,” she said.
“They didn’t know that I’d eventually open the phone and now that I’ve seen what they were doing behind my back, they disappeared,” said Babes.
She further revealed that after Mampintsha’s death, she had been receiving offers from insurance companies.
“They want me to advertise their products and say my husband was a great performer. But I’ve declined their offers. I’m not crazy,” she said.
Babes Wodumo’s sister-in-law Pinky Gumede said: “I don’t have a problem with Babes finding a man because she is still young and she needs to move on with her life.”
The publication contacted Babes and her manager, Nondu Simelane but they did not answer their phones. They also did not respond to text messages.
Mampintsha died on 24 December 2022 after a short illness. He left behind his widow and their son, Sponge. His mother Zamanguni Gumede also died on 16 January.
