Bongekile Simelane (born March 26, 1994), better known as Babes Wodumo is a South African gqom artist and choreographer. She rose to fame following the release of her breakthrough song “Wololo”, in 2016. The song later appeared on her debut studio album, Gqom Queen, released in late 2016. Babes Wodumo is a part of the music connoisseurs who were pivotal in influencing the genre’s international acclaim included the likes of South African rapper Okmalumkoolkat, Italian record label Gqom Oh owner, Malumqawz Kole inclusive of music taste-makeraand public relations liaison, Cherish Lala Mankai and Afrotainment record label owner DJ Tira. She appeared on Black Panther: The Album on a song called “Redemption”. In 2017, Wodumo was nominated for the BET Award for Best International Act: Africa. In July 2020, she released her second album Idando Kazi.

After being popular and having money there were rumours that Babes Wodumo is broke. And people said this because it’s been a while since they’ve seen Babes Wodumo performing, because they assume that some celebrities make money by performing so they assume that if they don’t perform they don’t make money, which is just probably not true.

People on social media they are too judgemental especially when it comes to celebrities, I mean yes Babes Wodumo is a public figure and everything she does people would want to know. But sometimes they are over doing things by passing judgements and saying things they are not sure about, things they don’t have facts about.

To be honest no one has a right to judge another human being whether the person is a celebrity or not. We All have the right to privacy and to be respected, because these people are now disrespecting Babes Wodumo by saying they thought she is broke she doesn’t have money, where does she get the money to buy a new car because they thought she is broke. But it’s known that People on social media they are like that, they look down on other people and no matter what you say they don’t stop I guess they are like that.
