‘A Curryn’: X users compare Tom Curry to a Karen

South African rugby lovers across the country are standing behind Springbok star Bongi Mbonambi. This after he was accused by England player Tom Curry of using a racial slur — something he vehemently denies. While the World Rugby administration has promised to get to the bottom of the matter, no progress has been made. Mbonambi — who is waiting to hear whether or not he will be able to compete — reportedly continues to train with the rest of the Springboks ahead of the World Cup Final during which they face New Zealand.

In the meantime, South Africans have resorted to slamming Curry and have now dubbed him the “male form of a Karen”.

TOM CURRY DUBBED A ‘CURRYN’ – THE MALE VERSION OF A KARYN
While racism is an extremely sensitive topic for South Africans, many of them have brushed off the accusations of racism levelled against Springbok Bongi Mbonambi by England’s Tom Curry.

Many are standing firmly behind the Springbok player who Curry claims directed a racial slur at him.

This has been denied by Mbonambi who is now waiting to hear whether or not he will be allowed to face the All Blacks for the RWC final.

In the meantime, his South African fans have resorted to blasting Curry who they say is trying to stir trouble because of their semifinal loss against the Springboks last week.

One person bizarrely referred to Curry as the male version of a Karen.

Handre Pollard shares courageous story about Bongi Mbonambi

Springbok player Handre Pollard had South Africans feeling more united than ever after hearing a “funny story” he told of his teammate Bongi Mbonambi’s actions during a Rugby World Cup tournament as seen in an X (formally known as Twitter) video posted on 18 October.

Handre Pollard was interviewed about his incredible 55m penalty kick that helped move the Springboks to the final. South Africa defeated England with the scoreboard showing 15-16 by the end of the 2023 Rugby World Cup semi-final game that took place in Paris, France on Saturday.

The Springbok fly-half shared that when it’s time for him to take penalties, he merely just trusts the process and the hours he’s put in training. “[I] just go out there and deliver. You just try and do what you always do,” he said.

Pollard also added that his teammates often give him the confidence to give it his all. “Funny story… So we were still sort of discussing it on the field whether we gonna take it [the penalty] because it was quite a long way out than the circumstances of the game required. And the next thing Bongi Mbonambi walks to the ref and says ‘We are taking this shot’ and he screams in my ear ‘This is for South Africa!’ I think everyone started laughing hard. It gives you a lot of confidence as a kicker,” the fly-half said.

The Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi also said he had no doubt Handre Pollard would have missed the winning-penalty seen in Saturday’s game, IOL reported. The fly-half is said to have taken the memorable kick with one eye closed and still had the ball seamlessly flying between the poles. “I had no doubt at all. Polly has done this kind of thing for us before. I knew it was going over,” Kolisi was quoted as saying

Bongi Mbonambi and his daughter play on the trampoline

Springboks star Bongi Mbonambi played with his daughter, and some fans said he was a good father. Bongi Mbonambi had been making headlines since the game against England, with a lot being said. Bongi was accused of saying abusive words during the game and it’s a big worry to the Springboks.

The worst thing the Springboks would want is losing Mbonambi for the final against the All Blacks. With that in mind, many fans had been looking at him and his life closely. Some had been browsing his social media, probably trying to understand the kind of man he was.

One fan found his video playing with his daughter on the trampoline, and they loved it.

“But he is a good father after all – what about this racism thing 🥲🥲🥲🥲”

‘A GOOD FATHER’ BONGI MBONAMBI PRAISED FOR PLAYING WITH HIS DAUGHTER ON A TRAMPOLINE
Sharing on his Instagram, Bongi Mbonambi spoke of how much he wanted to jump.

“Dada also want to jump… 😎🤣” he said jumping onto the castle with his daughter joining him.

Indeed, this video and many others also showed how much he was a family man. Whenever he found time, he would go out with his wife and kids, which looked lovely.

Judging from most of his posts, one would found it challenging to imagine the accusations he was facing.

SPRINGBOKS RESPONDS TO ALLEGATIONS
Putting aside Bongi Mbonambi’s father and daughter moments on the trampoline, let’s hear what the coaches had to say.

Springbok scrum coach Daan Human spoke of Mbonambi’s case and said what he knew.

“It’s being dealt with by World Rugby and South Africa Rugby at the moment. From our side I really can’t comment on something like that,” said Springboks assistant coach Daan Human.

“He had a perfect training this afternoon, well not perfect but we strive to have a perfect training. I can’t really comment on that.” he continued.

“Bongi has been part of this group for the last six years. He is a very important piece of our puzzle, he is definitely very important to us like all the other players.” he continued speaking to the media.

Daan Human continued speaking about the situation, but the fact that he trained well impressed fans.

Lynn Forbes pulls on heartstring with clip of AKA and Kairo bonding

Lynn Forbes, the mother of the slain rapper AKA – real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was comforted by her son’s fans and her social media followers after taking to Instagram and sharing a throwback video of the Sim Dope hitmaker jamming out with his daughter, Kairo.

AKA was shot and killed in public on 10 February in Florida, Durban alongside his long-term friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane. “We found the cars that were used to attack and withdraw, we found the gun, we’ve identified those people… The fact that those cars that dropped these guys off and picked them up, and the gun has been found to be the proper gun ballistically – I think we are very much on course with that case of AKA,” Cele was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, AKA’s mother has unfortunately been mourning the death of her son for the past eight months. She recently posted an old video of the Run Jozi hitmaker with his eight-year-old daughter spending quality time together which tugged on the rapper’s fans and her social media followers’ heartstrings.
