Gugu Gumede, the Uzalo actress who portrays Hlengiwe Mamlambo on the popular hit show on SABC 1, recently left viewers curious on why she left the show. There were a lot of reports that circulated about her leaving the hit show.

Congratulations are in order for the Uzalo actress. Gugu Gumede took to her instagram to announce and reveal that she is expecting a baby. In the photo, the actress is visibly and heavily pregnant wearing a beautiful black dress.

The actress in a long post revealed that her unborn baby is the reason why she is still holding on after all the hurt she went through last year.

In 2021, the talented actress lost her mom Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi who was a politician and a member of the national assembly. Her mother was affiliated with the polital party NFP. Gugu revealed in her instagram post that the reason she was able to deal with her mother death was because of her pregnancy.

She further revealed that her mother was so excited about her seeing her grandchild.

Gugu did recently state that she needed to rest and take care of some personal matters. As a result, her fans were devastated when she left the show, I guess now it’s clear why the actress needed the break.

Clearly her pregnancy has served a huge purpose in her life and it is probably what she needed at this time of her life. A huge congratulations to the star and we can’t wait to see the bundle of joy.

Fans were laughing at Andile after Sithelo didi this to him, so Andile Mpisane went live on his instagram page with his friends, he was basically saying that he needs atleast 5k views so that he can give away ten thousand cash to a lucky winner. While he was begging people to be on his live, Sithelo then went live on her own instagram page as well, she grew faster than him and she was on 9k views in just a few minutes. Andile on the other hand was struggling to reach 2k views and the views were just decreasing instead of increasing and as a result he turned off his live because a lot of his views were now watching Sithelo Shozi.

Sithelo on her live was just enjoying life chatting with her friends and drinking while smoking. A lot of their fans and followers were just laughing at Andile Mpisane for being a joke like that in public, some fans were feeling sorry for him. Sannah Mchunu has been praised all throughout social media for her portrayal of Zodwa the recently relapsed mother of two. Her performance is at times chilling when you realise it’s the reality of many South African children.
However I couldn’t help but notice that Gladys has been so selfish lately.

Zodwa regressed back into her old ways after being haunted by Don through Sbongile. The reality is that an evil little girl is the reason she’s thrown away all of her progress that she’s made thus far. She is now reaching the stage of not caring about Teddy as well, choosing to drink and not to buy groceries.

Teddy and Sbongile had to go to Gladys house and try to get food in incognito mode because they were starving. If she was a bit more diligent she would have noticed this already. Why hasn’t she noticed her friend isn’t working? Why is it that Zodwa shot Don to save her family and yet here she is struggling? Gladys has a lot to account for here and she’s just cruising along. It doesn’t seem very fair.

Personal Thoughts
I really find it strange that the writers even bother to show us Gladys. Her character seems like cannon fodder whenever they want to toss in a Nthati storyline. She’s always the nagging wife whose husband doesn’t love her and I’d give anything to see some character development for her.

Perhaps in the form of actually being a good friend to Zodwa who now needs her more than ever. If she doesn’t get help she’ll never want to be sober again. As a social worker, I thought she’d know that the kids were in trouble, coming to her place at night? But no, there was observation just vibes. It’s truly upsetting to me.

Black Brain Pictures is making all sorts of headlines for the wrong reasons. Rumour has it that the largest film production company is underpaying its cast despite making hefty amounts from productions.

One of the disgruntled actors revealed the news. This comes after DiepCity actors revealed that the showrunners were underpaying them despite being promised hefty amounts on their contracts. However, it seems as if showrunners are failing to honor their contract agreements, and several drama series casts have complained of not getting paid.

Sources have to it that the showrunners are now victimizing and threatening the DiepCity cast after it revealed the dirty laundry happening behind the scene. Rumour has it that the showrunners are headhunting for a cast member who leaked the news to City Press that the cast of DiepCity was being exploited.

In the case of Black Brain Pictures asked for comment by Entertainment commentator Phil Mpela the Public Relations team refused to offer a statement in regards to the matter. The PR agency made it clear that:

“Black Brain Pictures will not be responding to the accusation, “don’t want to add fuel to the fire at the moment”

Mzansi blasts production company for harassing cast after speaking out about being underpaid

The daring allegations came in the backdrop of the national casting call that the Production Company made. The Production house is looking for actors aged between 18-35-years old. However, the nationwide casting call was done a few weeks ago.

These actors should be good in all native languages. The auditions will be conducted across South Africa, with the first rollout of auditions slated for KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and the Western Cape.

Despite all being said, Black Brain Pictures has managed to become one of Mzansi’s finest when it comes to on-screen productions. The production company is behind more than ten big shows in Mzansi, from Lockdown to DiepCity.

The Production company was established in 2004 and has managed to win more than 26 South African Film and Television Awards Golden Horns. Apart from the SAFTA’S and SAMA’s, it has managed to win two African On-air Promos Awards and an International award from the International DVD distribution of Discreet; The Movie. It has also managed to win big at some South African Music Awards.
