In a shocking twist in SKEEM SAAM Meikie Maputla will not continue with Skeem Saam
And actress Florence Masebe is set to step into Meikie Maputla’s shoes on Skeem Saam, temporarily replacing Harriet Manamela, who has portrayed the character since the series’ debut in 2011.
The unexpected move was prompted by Manamela’s undisclosed health issues, forcing her to take sick leave.
Although still on set and shooting, Manamela’s final scene for the season will air on April 5.
Masebe, slated to take over from May 15, brings a fresh dynamic to the role. Skeem Saam is not just shaking up its cast; it’s also shifting its time slot to 7:30 pm, aligning with SABC’s strategy to dominate prime-time drama from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Viewers, long requesting this change, can expect a broader audience reach and a revamped viewing experience.

Azwimmbavhi Rambuda is an actress popularly known as Mpho Ravele in ‘Muvhango’. Although she has starred in quite a few television productions, she is recognized as one of Mzansi’s best and consistent actresses.
Azwi rambuda was born in 1991 in the Musanda Ha-rambuda area in Dzimauli in the North of South Africa. She currently resides in Fourways in Johannesburg in a swanky house.

Azwi is the second born of Rudzani and Sarah Rambuda. Rudzani is an experienced architect who is now aged 60. Her mother Sarah, is a retired teacher and ANC councillor. They still reside in Limpopo after raising their children and pursuing their careers to the maximum. Rudzani’s father was a chief which makes Azwi a lady of royal blood together with her three other siblings.
Azwi began acting in primary where she took part in several dramas. She enjoyed acting and vowed to pursue the filed after school.
As planned, she matriculated and requested her parents to enrol her into the University of KwaZulu natal studying drama. At first her parents rejected her proposal, but she told them she would rather sit at home than study something else.
She won her parents over, and she attended and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Drama, performance, media and cultural studies in 2010.
Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, she failed to land roles after auditioning for Sundani and also Rindani in Muvhango.
When she was about to give up, she won the role of Mpho. Following this break, she showcased her talent to the attentive Mzansi viewers who instantly fell in love with her. Ever since, she has played Mpho on Muvhango for a whooping 9 years.
Azwi Rambuda has a birthmark that starts from the inner corner of her right eye to where her right nostrils start. This birthmark scarred her face and most acting agents she met rejected her because it made her face imperfect. However, despite negative comments that she got from the public Azwi did not give up on her dream, and she has done pretty well for herself.

Nomcebo believes that Mbuso is turning out to be his father and Nkanyiso snaps at Martha when she asks him for something. Meanwhile, Thenjiwe is unhappy that Velaphi st.

Their separation comes after several years of being together and making their relationship public, during which they also welcomed a son. However, rumors of infidelity dating back to 2023 have shadowed their relationship.

How much could Lorch be earning at Sundowns?

Thembinkosi Lorch is likely to have been handed a serious salary bump by Mamelodi Sundowns after joining them on transfer deadline day from Orlando Pirates.

But just where will the 30-year-old attacker sit on the Sundowns salary scale? Reports suggest that Lorch was earning anything between R50 000 and R165000 a month at Pirates, though South African clubs’ lack of transparency over salaries makes it hard to be precise.

Sundowns’ highest earner is former Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu, according to a salary chart compiled by briefly.co.za. The website speculates that Zungu is earning a whopping R700 000 a month. Next on the list is Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams on R500 000 a month.

Could Lorch be earning anything close to these two fellow South Africans? Zungu was signed by Sundowns on a free transfer from Amiens in France in August 2022, and it is likely that coming from Europe, Sundowns had to go very high in terms of salary to secure Zungu’s signature. The club may have also felt that the fact that they were not paying a transfer fee justified a high wage package.

Williams is one of several players to have joined Sundowns from Tshwane rivals SuperSport United, with Masandawana rumoured to have paid SuperSport R12 million for his services in July 2012. Williams was already 30 years old when he joined Sundowns, the same age as Lorch is now.

A goalkeeper’s career tends to last longer than that of an outfield player, however, meaning Lorch’s package is unlikely to have matched Williams’.

To speculate on Lorch’s salary at Sundowns, given the highest end of what he was said to be earning at Pirates, it is safer to say he is in the region of Peter Shalulile or Thapelo Morena, said to be on R400 000 a month.

It could even be, that with a year left on his contract at Pirates, and little sign of a new deal being agreed, Lorch was prepared to move to Sundowns for a little less than that, in the region of R300 000 a month.

This would still represent an enormous boost to his salary, not to mention the signing on fee and the bonus structure that will undoubtedly be in his deal.
