Get to know Wendy Gumede ‘Rachel’ from Scandal

Wendy Gumede’s childhood was not as rosy as her life is now. The actress is one of the celebrities who had a rough childhood. She had to work extra hard to get everything that most kids get handed to them by their parents
Before she was born, Wendy’s father told her pregnant mother that she was carrying a star. Her parents were just average earners.
However, her father died when Wendy was only a year old. She was left to be raised by a single mom who died when Wendy was 11 years old. After her mother died, Wendy was taken in by her maternal aunt and lived with her and her cousins.
When recalling that time, Wendy says life was not all rosy. She states that she is sure her aunt would have preferred it if she was taking care of her biological kids alone. Wendy definitely would have chosen it if her parents were alive.
However, she dreamt of a different life for her future kids, so she worked hard since she was in primary school. When other students were going on vacations in college, Wendy worked several jobs to afford her basic needs.
