‘All I want is my money’: Makhadzi demands what belongs to her from Open Mic Productions

Limpopo star, Makhadzi was all smiles at the Metro FM awards amid her nasty fight with Open Mic. She boldly stated that she wants her money and is not playing about that.

Makhadzi won an award at the 17th edition of Metro FM Awards held in Nelspruit, Mbombela stadium. She was at loggerheads with her former management label, Open Mic, and was even slated to not attend the ceremony. However, the Matorokisi hitmaker attended and she was in high spirits. Speaking to Somizi after the win, she said she wants her money.Makhadzi went on a rant and exposed Open Mic for filth:

“I signed with Open Mic only for three years. In [these] three years I dropped 4 albums. I have never received any cent of my sales. Some of my album[s] reached platinum, some gold. And a lot of [the] hit songs that reached platinum and gold. But I continue to work without complaining [because] all I wanted was to serve my contract, to avoid them saying I bridged the contract.

“I’m talking about the contract that I signed and no one [was] allowed to give me a copy. I worked with Open Mic without a copy of my contract ever since they said they will send it. I kept on reminding them but no one was willing to send me my contract,” she said.

“And how positive is that to renew my contract without sitting down with me ? And how about my money for my album cos you haven’t never sent any cent, how possible is that for you to renew my contract without coming to me, what if I not happy working with.”

Babes Wodumo’s actions after walking to the stage with DJ Tira at Metro FM Awards leave fans worried

South African DJ, Mthokozisi Khathi, professionally known by his stage name DJ Tira was the winner of the Best Kwaito/ Gqom category during the recent Metro FM Awards 2023. He beat out fan-favourite single and Ukhozi FM’s Song of the Year 2022 winner Ngeke by Big Nuz.

However, when going on stage, DJ Tira and the Afrotainment team brought along Babes Wodumo to celebrate the win. This came after they had already performed together during the Kwaito/ Gqom medley.

But it did not take long for the viewers and the public to notice Babes’ body language during DJ Tira’s acceptance speech. From the visuals shared, it was clear that Babes Wodumo was not comfortable being on stage with DJ Tira and his entourage. On the one hand, it is believed the discomfort could have stemmed from the fact that Babes was still mourning the passing of her late husband. More so as this was one of the first times that she has been seen on a national platform since the scandals surrounding Mampintsha, and just over a month later, his mother’s passing.

However, on the other hand, there were those that speculated that Babes’ discomfort stemmed from something else. Specifically, her mixed feelings towards DJ Tira.

This comes as it is alleged that Babes had hosted a Facebook Live session ahead of the award ceremony speaking on how DJ Tira has not kept his word to protect and help Babes reintroduce herself musically since Mampintsha’s passing.
