In solidarity of the Hollywood writers strike South African actress Thuso Mbedu has joined the picket line. The Writers Guild of America is a labour union that represents all professional screenwriters and actors in film, television and online video programming.

WGA strike started in May when 11 000 unionised TV and movie writers declared a strike after failed negotiations with production companies.
