Burna Boy reportedly sold 17,000 tickets for his FNB stadium concert

Burna Boy reportedly sold 17,000 tickets for his FNN stadium concert. It was revealed that the ticket sales were poor, hence the show got canceled.

A total of 1500 tickets were rumored to be sold. However, Phil Mphela confirmed to the public on Thursday night that the sales were 17,000, which is still a poor sale as the stadium has a 96,000 capacity of people.

“17 000 tickets sold for Burna Boy concert Around 17k tickets were sold for the FNB stadium concert that was meant to happen this weekend. The erroneous 1500 number was just a Twitter “joke/jab” that went over many’s heads and became the running number. 17k is still a low number for a stadium capacity,” Phil wrote.

Nadia Nakai comes after his late boyfriend, AKA’s enemy Burna Boy after his FNB Stadium concert got canceled

Popular South African rapper Nadia Nakai didn’t take kindly to Nigerian superstar Burna Boy’s “dead agenda” remarks when he postponed his concert at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg to December 16.

 

 

 

In a now-deleted Instagram story, Nadia shared a snapshot of the post, asking “Am I being sensitive? What does he mean by dead agenda?”

While social media users speculated about the reason behind the postponement, the Grammy award-winning star took to his Instagram stories to assure his fans he will come to South Africa soon.“I was in South Africa last year and I had 100,000 of the most beautiful South Africans outside for me, so no dead agenda. I will see you again soon South Africa. I love you,” he wrote.He was expected to start his Burna Boy After Tour at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on September 23, but the show was later postponed to December 16.All of this was short-lived as the musician eventually cancelled the event.

According to the publication’s sister publication, a fraud case led to the cancellation of the concert.The publication reported Sedote Nwachukwu, CEO of Ternary Media Group, the organisers of the show, has been accused of stealing R10m from the company.

Ternary Media spokesperson Kymoni Jackson responded that the reason for the cancellation was the alleged R10m theft, not poor ticket sales.
