Lerato Moipone Molapo is popularly known as Lira. She is a South African singer who sings under different genres including Jazz, Afro soul, R&B and funk. She started singing at a tender age, and at 16 she started doing stage performances. She writes her own songs.

The award winning singer is 42 years old. In 2019 she announced that she has separated with her husband of nine years. Lira does not have children and she’s not bothered to see her peers raising their own. While she was in her late 30s she used to say the busy life she lives with her then husband does not accommodate babies, “I don’t have time for babies”,she’d say.

She again answered the question last year saying having children is not in her plans. This is so surprising because Lira was raised in a family of eight children. One would think Lira should love to have many children like her parents, or maybe her childhood was not beautiful around her siblings?

Lira has all the money she need and she has achieved many goals and kids should be next. Not so long ago she was named the Namibian travel ambassador. As of July 2021, is Lira still not ready to have kids at the age of 42?
