Arthur Mafokate is involved in another war of royalties with Artist Ishmael Morabe.

it is not the first first time he gets involved in royalty battle with 999 former artists.

 

 

 

He was also taken to task previously by his former artist CICI after she accused Arthur Mafokate of dragging her with a car.

Ishmael Morabe who was once part of the hip hop group together with Da L.E.S and Bongani Fassie.

He wants to take Arthur to the cleaners.

He wants the king of kwaito to account for royalties for an album that dates back as far as

2001 “Roba Ketheka”

2002 ” Akuna Mthatha”

2003 “ismanje manje”

2006 “Ke waka”

Ishmael used to perform the songs while he was still under the 999 recording label back then.

Ishmael’s legal team David Dison wants the Mafokate to pay Morabe Royalty money for work done on the songs.

David Dison has sent a letter to Arthur demanding payments.

One could wonder why did Ishmael take so long to approach Arthur regarding this matter.

Ishmael confirmed that he wish things will not turn out this way. However, he mentioned that taking on someone like Arthur costs a lot of money. It is not something you can take likely.

Ishmael and Arthur’s relationship ended in 2005. However, Ishmael went back years later.

However, the relationship did not last.

Mafokate is adamant that Morabe should communicate with Sony not him personally. He recons the best approach is to speak to distributors which in this case is Sony.

In 2018 Ishmael tried to revive his career after years of struggle with drugs.

He recons that going independent was his main downfall because if you belong to a big recording label. You can only worry about your creativity instead of focusing on other stuff.
