Shimza was born in Swaziland and given the name Ashley Raphala. Shimza, on the other hand, grew up in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni. Shimza was reared by his grandfather, whom he affectionately referred to as Shimi. As a result of that nickname, he was dubbed Shimza, which became his stage name.
Shimza began his profession when he was 15 years old.
He was inspired to pursue his aspirations and began working as a DJ in the dance music scene in 2003. After a spectacular debut, he was able to win the Red Square DJ Competition in 2006.
Shimza competed in and won the South African Music Conference (SAMC) competition for aspiring DJs.
Shimza won the Gauteng Carnival DJ Competition in 2011 as a result of his continuing participation in various competitions, which provided him with the much-needed exposure he need to be known in the music industry.
Grand P, a prominent Guinean musician, actor, social media figure, and politician, was recently compared to him, and they may literally be blood brothers. He is one of Guinea’s most well-known musicians due to his ability to make a name for himself in the country’s entertainment sector despite having a serious genetic condition. Grand P was born with progeria, a rare genetic illness.
