Another South African Actress Has Passed Away Today.

Shaleen Surtie-Richards, was a South African television, stage, and film actress. She was born on the 7th of May 1955 in Upington. She is perhaps best known for her starring roles in the 1988 film Fiela se Kind and the long-running series Egoli. Shaleen also appeared in few soapies such as Generation, 7de Laan, and Villa Rosa. She was well known for speaking Afrikaans in most of her TV shows.


Shaleen was also part of Mama Jack’s cast in 2005. It was reported today that she is no more. Her family is when they will release a statement about her passing and the cause of her death is not yet known but it was said that she was suffering from sugar diabetes. Many people took to social media to send messages of condolences to her family.

Ugh man, what a talent. I loved her! She was full of life and I adored her acting, it felt like I knew her personally. Rest easy Queen
