Mzansi is saddened by the death of rapper AKA, and many people have questions about what happened. Many people have even said that Moses Tembe, the father of AKA’s late fiancee Anele, was responsible for his death.
However, Moses who is a popular and respected Durban tycoon has denied any involvement in AKA’s death. Moses said on Saturday, February 11, that people who know him and his family well would not spread such rumors.
“We’ve never judged Kiernan, and we showed him how much we loved him right up until the day he died,” he said. “We’re so saddened by this sad event because it takes away the chance we’ve been waiting so long for to defend our daughter in court or at an inquest.”
“I’d like to go to his house and tell them in person how sorry we are.”
“As a parent, I feel a lot of pain for Tony and Lynn, Kiernan’s parents, Kairo, and the rest of the family. Kiernan’s amazing music added to South Africa’s rich musical tapestry in important ways. We feel bad for his whole family and all of his fans. We also ask South Africans to be kind and give the family space, time, and respect on all platforms,” he said.
AKA and his former manager and friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were both shot and killed by two unknown gunmen outside Wish restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road on Friday, February 10. The man, whose real name was Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, and was 35 years old, was hugging Tibz when he was shot shortly after 10 p.m. When he was killed, he was on his way to perform at Yugo restaurant, also in Durban.
Fans of the rapper have asked for the suspects to be caught as soon as possible. There have been many stories about how he died, and many people have asked who hired the people who killed him. Businesspeople, politicians, whistleblowers, and celebrities like DJ Sumbody and singer Vusi Ma R5 have been killed by people who were paid to kill them.
Some people on social media blamed Anele’s family, who died in Cape Town in 2021 in mysterious ways. They even said that Moses killed AKA because he thought AKA had something to do with her death.
Premier of KZN Nomusa Dube Ncube spoke out against the violent death of AKA. “The way the person died breaks our hearts. This is a huge tragedy, and we’re calling on law enforcement and the people of our country to work together to bring the killers to justice,” she said.
Colonel Robert Netshiunda asked anyone who might have information that could help the investigation to call the police station closest to them.
