Ami Faku & Black Coffee Honour SA Music Legends Letta Mbulu And Caiphus Semenya

Legendary musician Caiphus Semenya (80) and his gorgeous wife, Letta Mbulu (77) have been in the music for as long as we can remember, yet till today, they still remain relevant.

The pair are so relevant, even the king of Mzansi DJs, Black Coffee has honoured them!

Multiple award-winning music powerhouses Black Coffee and Ami Faku collaborated with Gallo Remixed to get lost in the melody of legacy with an Afropop remix of “There’s Music In The Air”.

Originally performed, recorded, written, and produced in 1976 by Letta Mbulu and Caiphus Semenya respectively, one of the staple anti-apartheid songs is reborn into the nuanced pursuit of unattained freedoms accentuated through an invigorating electronic soul remix/remake as part of the Gallo Remixed Series executively produced by Black Coffee.

 

 

 

 

Honing into the original composition’s medium for hope, feelings of love, hope and solace, and a zeitgeist message of freedom, Ami Faku bellows passionate vocal textures, soothing harmonies, and piercing tonal registers on the Black Coffee and DJ Kenza’s Co-Production.
