Amapiano Star Sha Sha has won the 2020 BET Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act Award #BETAwards2020.
A few weeks ago Sha Sha made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean to be nominated for the BET awards which showcase the best and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience. The awards are courtesy of the Black Entertainment Television, the most prominent television network targeting African American audiences in the United States. 2020 marked the 20th anniversary of the event and BET’s 40th anniversary.
The 26-year-old was up against Rema from Nigeria, Celeste from the United Kingdom, Young T and Bugsey from the United Kingdom, Hatik from France and Stacy from France.
Her chances of clinching the award were very skint, but she was already a winner because the nomination in itself was a big endorsement of her music.
