The South African music industry is very big and international acclaimed. However hip hop music used to be on the forefront but currently Amapiano seem to have taken over. The fascinating thing that I always wondered about is the issue of Aka and Casper Nyowest. They are considered to one of the greatest hip hop artists in South Africa. They are both big artists very talented but definitely not the greatest in my opinion. The South African media usual portrays them as the two greatest hip hop artists in the country , and some people fall for that but I tend to differ because I have deep understanding of music.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
In my humble opinion Nasty_C is currently the greatest hip hop artists in South Africa and his success goes beyond borders. He is much celebrated in Nigeria , Ghana and Kenya just to mention a few countries. He has been touring the world putting the South African music on the map. I honestly think he is the greatest hip hop artist of our generation. A Reece is also one of the best hip hop artist if not the best lyricist in the country , his delivery is exceptional. However he is not as successful as Nasty_C but interms of talent he is up there. They are both exceptional talents and are in the league of their own.

Kwesta and Stogie T are also up there among the best but those two are way above Aka and Casper Nyowest. What many people don’t understand is that Aka and Casper are very much popular because they have been in the music industry the longest , but interms of talent , skill and the art of rap music they are not the greatest in my opinion. I think Nasty_C and Areece are currently the biggest hip hop artists in South Africa , this is solely based on my opinion.
